First Cascade is the opening show of Jazzmania Live's 2026 outdoor Encore series at The Cascades at Stone Manse, the beloved waterfall pavilion inside Allegheny County's South Park. After a winter and spring of indoor shows at Elks Lodge #339, the ensemble moves outdoors for a full summer of free, family-friendly live jazz under the open sky.
The name is a nod to the venue itself — the actual cascading waterfalls that give Stone Manse its character — and to the show's place in the calendar: the first outdoor performance of the year. Jazzmania holds the core lineup with the rhythm section in place, and opens the stage to guest players and developing artists from across the Pittsburgh jazz community. Expect standards, originals, and a relaxed pace built for a long June evening outdoors.
Free admission, no tickets required, no reservations. Bring a folding chair, a blanket, snacks, and the kids. Dogs on leash are welcome on the lawn. The show runs 6:00 – 8:00 PM and streams live and free on The Encore for anyone who can't make it to South Park.
